The 27km race is one lap around the Wolfgangsee. This race generally attracts a strong field of international top runners. The course is a super-scenic run on a mixture of asphalt roads and cycleways and gravel paths. The route includes a steep up-and-down section across a wooded hill between Sankt Wolfgang and Sankt Gilgen.
The 42.2km marathon takes the runners from the spa town of Bad Ischl to Sankt Wolfgang (15km gently uphill on a country road) and then, together with the 27km runners, around the lake.
