Held annually in August in the Baroque gardens of the Augarten, a public park in Austria's capital Wien (Vienna), the Augartenlauf attracts approximately 400 runners and nordic walkers.

The event offers a 1,000-metre children's run, a 5k race and a 10k.

Starting and finishing at the Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten, Austria's number one porcelain manufactory, the 10k is four laps of a flat course on asphalt and gravel paths through the park.

The route passes two of Vienna's six Flaktürme (flak towers) — massive anti-aircraft defence towers and air-raid shelters, built during World War Two.
