Held annually on International Workers' Day in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany, the Volkslauf entlang der Mollispur (also known as "Mollilauf") features three very scenic road races along the tracks of the Molli, a narrow-gauge railway that is powered by a steam locomotive:

  • 12km
  • 6km
  • 3km

The 12km race begins and ends at Kloster Doberan (Doberan Abbey), a former Cistercian monastery located approximately six kilometres from the Baltic Sea coast in the old spa town of Bad Doberan.

The route runs out and back to Heiligendamm, the oldest beach resort in continental Europe.

The 6km race is a point-to-point run from Heiligendamm back to the abbey in Bad Doberan.

Participants in the 3km race run the last three kilometres of the route, starting at the Ostseerennbahn racecourse where horse races have been held for more than 200 years.

The train trip to the 3km and 6km start areas is included in the entry fees.
