Held annually in spring on the border between Germany and Poland, the Europamarathon is a truly international sports event that features various races for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels:

• 400m kids run
• 1.5km kids run
• 5.6km run
• 5.6km walk
• 10km run
• 10km walk
• 21.1km half marathon
• 21.1km half marathon relay (2x10.5km)
• 42.2km marathon
• 42.2km marathon relay (4x10.5km)

The half marathon is two laps and the marathon is four laps of an undulating course through both halves of a city that has been divided in two since 1945—Görlitz in Germany and Zgorzelec in Poland.

The start/finish area is in Görlitz's Old Town with its unique ensemble of approximately 4,000 listed buildings.
