The Silvesterlauf Innsbruck (‘New Year's Eve Run Innsbruck’) is held every year on 31 December in the city of Innsbruck, capital of the state of Tirol (Tyrol) in Austria.
It's a running event for the whole family:
- 1.9km Kinderlauf (kids run)
- 5km Hauptlauf (main race)
The 5k race follows a scenic course through the picturesque Altstadt (Old Town) and along the Inn river.
The route passes many of Innsbruck's best sights, such as the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) and the imposing Hofburg (Imperial Palace).
