Most (Czech Republic), Saturday 12 August 2017
The Night Run Most is the fourth race of the Night Run race series which is held between April and October in eight towns and cities of the Czech Republic.
Most is a town of 67,000 people, situated at the heart of a coal-mining area in the Ústí nad Labem Region, approximately 30 kilometres from the border with Germany's state of Saxony.
The town is almost 800 years old but nearly all buildings are modern. The historic centre of Most was demolished between 1965 and 1987 to make way for coal mines.
But it´s a very green place that is home to a number of parks and wooded hills and to a large number of sports facilities, for instance an Aquadrom, a Hipodrom, an Autodrom, an ice hockey arena, a golf course, inline skating lanes, and many more.
The Night Run offers two race distances, a 5k and a 10k.
Both races begin and end on Most's main square, 1. náměstí ("First Square").
The 5k is one lap and the 10k is two laps of a challenging course through Park Šibeník, a public park (and a hill) in the town centre.
All participants must wear a headlamp during the race. The 5k begins at 8.30pm, the 10k one hour later.
More than 600 runners took part in the event last year.
