Jastrzębie-Zdrój (Poland), Saturday 17 September 2016
The Bieg Uliczny "Jastrzębska Dziesiątka" (Road Race "Jastrzębie Ten") is a 10k race in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, a coal-mining town of about 90,000 people in the Upper Silesian metropolitan area on the border between Poland and the Czech Republic.
Over 600 runners completed the course last year, and more than 900 have registered for this year's race.
Competitors run two laps of an undulating out-and-back course along wide boulevards, starting at the Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa, a 3000-seat indoor arena that plays host to the Jastrzębski Węgiel, one of the top men's volleyball teams in Poland.
The course is certified by the Polish Athletic Association PZLA. The course records stand at 29 minutes 30 seconds for the men's race and 33 minutes 47 seconds for the women's race. The time limit to finish the race is two hours.
