Held in the Tourismusregion Hall-Wattens near the city of Innsbruck in Tyrol, the Halbmarathon Hall-Wattens attracts about 700 runners from far and near.

Two scenic routes, 4.4km and 21.9km long, have been designed to give runners a fine impression of the towns and villages in the Inn valley.

The start/finish area is in the old town of Hall in Tirol, a historic salt-mining town that is home to a large number of late-medieval buildings.

The 21.9km race (which is slightly longer than the classic half marathon distance) consists of two undulating loops (4.4km + 17.5km).

Participants run through Hall's old town, through the imposing Hasegg Castle, along the river Inn, through villages and rural areas, and through the town of Wattens which is known worldwide for its Swarovski Crystal Worlds visitor centre, one of Austria's biggest tourist attractions.

The race is run mainly on asphalt roads and cycleways. Approximately 2.5km of the course are on gravel.

It is possible to run the race as a two-person relay team (12.6km + 9.3km).
