The Pomladni tek (‘Spring Run’) is staged in the steel town of Jesenice in the Upper Sava Valley, a steep valley in the alpine Gorenjska region in Slovenia.

The event features a 10km race, a non-competitive 3km fun run and a number of children's races, starting and finishing at the protected Stara Sava ironworks complex (pictured).

Both the 10km and the 3km routes run out and back on asphalt roads along the valley. Popular with local runners, cyclists and inline skaters all year round, the route is mostly flat and—for the time of the race—closed to traffic.
