Grömitz (Germany), Sunday 10 May 2015
Held in Grömitz, a more-than-200-year-old seaside resort on the Baltic coast in Germany's state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Grömitzer Sun-Run offers children's races, a 5k run, a 5k for nordic walkers, a 10k race, and a half marathon.
Approximately 750 runners from all over Germany took part in the event last year.
Starting and finishing at the Seebrücke pier, all races are run out and back the beach promenade.
Participants in the half marathon also run a loop through agricultural areas, passing the Cismar Abbey, a Benedictine monastery founded in 1238.
