Held in the town of Mosonmagyaróvár in the north-western corner of Hungary — not far from the borders with Austria and Slovakia — the Szigetköz Minimaraton attracts around 500 runners.

Two race distances are on offer — the 4km Dunamenti kör ("Danube Loop") and the 16km Minimaraton, which is run through rural areas and villages on the Szigetköz, a 50km-long flat tract of land that is bounded by two rivers, the Danube (Hungarian: Duna) and the Moson-Danube (Hungarian: Mosoni Duna).
