Teor (Italy), Sunday 23 February 2014
The Marcia ‘Alla Scoperta del Fiume Stella’ invites runners and hikers to explore the roads and trails around the River Stella, which flows across the Bassa Friulana Plain into the Laguna di Marano in the north-east of Italy.
The event offers three routes—6km, 12km, and 21km long.
As a marcia is a non-competitive event, there won't be any timekeeping or results lists. It doesn't matter if you run or jog or walk. Prizes will not be awarded to the fastest finishers but to the largest groups.
Starting and finishing in the village of Teor in the province of Udine, all routes are very flat on mixed terrain through agricultural areas, vineyards, and pretty villages.
Weather permitting, the views of the Alps in the distance are fabulous!
