6th "Romeo and Juliet Half Marathon" 2013
Verona (Italy), Sunday 17 February 2013
The Giulietta & Romeo Half Marathon is one the most popular road running races in the north of Italy. In 2012, over 4300 runners completed the flat course through Verona, a beautiful city of art and culture, surrounded by lovely wine-growing regions.
The start is at Verona's main stadium in the south-western part of the city. The finish line is on Piazza Bra in front of the Arena, the third-largest of all Roman amphitheatres.
The course winds its way through various parts of the city, including the Old Town. Competitors run across five different bridges over the River Adige, and at the end of the race they run through the imposing Arena.
It is also possible to run the half marathon as a relay (13km + 8km).
