Held in mid-October, the Landhauslauf brings runners to Eisenstadt, capital of Austria's low-lying Burgenland province.

Eisenstadt is a small town of around 13,000 people, located approximately 50km to the south of Vienna, close to Lake Neusiedl and the Hungarian border.

Competitors choose to run either 2.5K (one lap), 5K (two laps) or 10K (four laps).

Start and finish are at the pretty Rathaus (town hall) on the pedestrianized Hauptstrasse. The route passes Schloss Esterházy, a massive baroque palace with a large landscaped park.

In 2010, the 10K winners were Wolfgang Wallner (33:18) and Sonja Wimmer (43:53).
