12th Parndorf Road Run 2011
Parndorf (Austria), Saturday 18 June 2011
This 10K road race in Austria's low-lying Burgenland province offers the opportunity to set a personal best time on a flat and fast, AIMS-certified course.
Competitors run three loops through Parndorf, a village of 4000 people, situated on the windy and thinly-populated plain between Vienna, Lake Neusiedl and Bratislava. Among shopaholics Parndorf is mainly known for the nearby "Designer Outlet Parndorf" with 150 shops.
A strong field of runners is guaranteed as Hungarian top athletes are regular guests at running events in the Burgenland (which was part of Hungary until 90 years ago).
In 2010, the winners were Mihály Zsiros (31:44) and Szandra Szalay (36:09), both of Hungary.
