There are several running events at the 79km-long Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central and Western Europe. Like the very popular Lake Balaton Marathon in November, the Wink Marathon is held in Siófok, the lake's largest and most vibrant resort, but it will be much less crowded and the weather will certainly be much more pleasant.
You will have the choice between a full marathon, a half marathon and a 5km race, or you can form a team of three to share the marathon distance or the 5km in a sprint relay.
It's a nice route on a 10.55km lap on the promenade and along leafy avenues with some elegant turn-of-the-century villas.

Entry fees: 21km: 2500 HUF (until 31 March), 3500 HUF (until 1 May), 5000 HUF (until 16 May); 42km: 3500/4500/6000 HUF (1000 Forint are approximately 3.70 EUR)
Race centre: at the start, open from 7.00 to 9.00
You get: T-Shirt, chip for timing, certificate, medal, pasta party after the race
