Let's link the salt pans

The salt pans of Sečovlje in the Piran Bay

An interesting and scenic route along the Slovene coast connects the large salt pans of Sečovle in the Bay of Piran, right on the Croatian border, and the much smaller salt pans of Strunjan. Both have been mostly abandoned and turned into nature reserves.

You run 9350 metres on mixed terrain, partly on roads but also on twisty and narrow footpaths. A short section takes you through the disused tunnel of the former narrow gauge Trieste-Poreč railway line.

The race attracts a growing number of runners and walkers, and more than 500 are expected to take part this year.
