3rd Bevkov vrh Mountain Race 2009

This is a small mountain running event in a remote and idyllic corner of Slovenia.

You will need a good map to find the small village of Jazne, located in the hills to the south-east of the Julian Alps, somewhere between the towns of Idrija and Cerkno.

However, it will be worth the effort.

The 6km route starts in Jazne at an elevation of 536 metres. The finish is at an elevation of 1025 metres, close to the top of Bevkov vrh (1051m).

The route, which includes some downhill sections, travels through lovely countryside and offers marvellous panoramic views of inland Slovenia.

The course records are held by Vanja Krapež (34:59) and Simon Alič (28:07).
