Held annually in Novo mesto, an old town situated in the rolling hills of the Dolenjska region in Slovenia, the Novomeški tek (‘Novo mesto Run’) is a fine running event for the whole family.

It features scenic routes designed for all age groups and abilities. The shortest is 480 metres long, the longest 7.7 kilometres.

All routes start and end on Glavni trg, the cobbled elongated main square in the historic town centre which sits in a sharp bend of the Krka river.

The 7.7k race consists of two laps of a very undulating and varied course. The race is run on mixed terrain—asphalt roads, forest trails and a beautiful wooden bridge.
