The Plava Laguna Polumaraton takes place yearly over a weekend in late March in the vast tourist settlements that stretch to the south of the old town of Poreč, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Croatia, located on the west coast of Istria (Croatian: Istra), a peninsula in the northern Adriatic.

It's a running event for the whole family as it offers a 3.5km run (on Saturday morning), children's races (on Saturday afternoon) and a 10k run and a half marathon (on Sunday morning)

The half marathon is open to individual runners as well as to relay teams of two (10.5km+10.5km).

All races begin and end in the Zelena Laguna Resort ('Green Lagoon Resort'), approximately four kilometres south of the historic centre of Poreč.

The 3.5km race takes the runners southwards around the Camping Bijela Uvala ('White Bay Camping').

Participants in the half marathon run two laps of a gently-undulating out-and-back course. The route runs northwards, mainly on asphalt paths along the coast (far away from the traffic), through the Plava Laguna Resort ('Blue Lagoon Resort') to the marina on the southern edge of Poreč's Old Town.
