The Silvesterlauf Innsbruck (‘New Year's Eve Run Innsbruck’) is held every year on 31 December in the city of Innsbruck, capital of the state of Tirol (Tyrol) in Austria.

It's a running event for the whole family:

  • 1.4km Kinderlauf (kids' run)
  • 2.8km Nordic Walking
  • 5.6km Hauptlauf (main race)

Starting at 5 p.m. in the heart of Innsbruck's picturesque Altstadt (Old Town), participants in the Hauptlauf run two laps of a scenic course through the city centre and along the River Inn, passing many of Innsbruck's best sights, such as the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) and the imposing Hofburg (Imperial Palace; pictured).
