The Katschberglauf is a multi-terrain mountain running event held in the Katschberg ski area in the state of Kärnten (Carinthia) in Austria.
The route is 11.5km long and mainly uphill (+968m of ascent, -87m of descent).
Starting at an elevation of 1,143m in the village of Rennweg am Katschberg, the route passes the village of Sankt Georgen (pictured), the Katschberghöhe mountain pass (1,641m) and the Gamskogelhütte mountain hut (1,850m).
The finish line is at 2,024m above sea level on the summit of the Tschaneck.
From there, you'll have to walk back down to the Gamskogelhütte, where the best finishers will receive their awards.
The downhill bus transfer from the Gamskogelhütte via Katschberghöhe to Rennweg is included in the registration fees.
