Held on a Friday night in June at the 10km-long Ossiacher See (Lake Ossiach) in Austria's state of Kärnten (Carinthia), the Ossiacher See Nachthalbmarathon attracts an international field of more than 500 competitors.

The event offers children's races, a 7km race for runners and nordic walkers, and a 21.1km half marathon.

Both the 7km race and the half marathon are point-to-point races. The route alternates in direction each year.

In 2016, the finish area will be in the village of Ossiach on the southern shore. The 7km race will begin in Heiligengestade, which is also on the southern shore.

The half marathon will be started in Bodensdorf on the northern shore. Participants will run on roads and cycleways around the western part of the lake. The route is undulating.

In 2015, the fastest half marathon finishers were Manfred Steger (1:17:02) and Anita Hollaus (1:32:14).
