This running event for 4-person relay teams is held every year in December at the very pretty Škalsko jezero (Lake Škale), a flooded coal mining pit on the edge of the industrial town of Velenje in Slovenia.

Each team member runs one loop (3.25km) around the lake, mostly on hard-packed gravel paths. There must be at least one woman in the team!

Last year, 56 teams took part in the race. The fastest team finished in 50min 5sec.

The event is held in honour of Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners and other trades.
