The Utrka grada Mursko Središće offers a 10km road race and a 2.6km town run. Start and finish are at the football pitch of Mursko Središće, a small town of 6500 people, situated on the River Mura in the far north of Croatia. Slovenia is across the river, and Hungary is also just ten kilometres away. The area is unspectacular but very charming with rolling hills and vineyards to the west, low-lying fields to the east, green dikes along the river, and three thermal spas in three different countries. The 10k is a flat out-and-back course along the country road that runs through the fields to the east of Mursko Središće. Entry fees are low, there are plenty of small prizes, and all participants get a meal after the race. |
