Held annually in the spring in Belgrade (Serbian: Beograd), capital of Serbia, the Belgrade Marathon (Beogradski Maraton) is a prestigious and popular road running event that attracts an international crowd of more than 10,000 runners.

In 2026, the event offers four race options:

  • 10km (trka na 10km)
  • 21.1km half marathon (polumaraton)
  • 21.1km half marathon relay for teams of four runners (štafetni polumaraton)
  • 42.2km marathon (maraton)

Starting and finishing on Republic Square (Trg Republike), the 10k route runs through and around Stari grad, Belgrade's old core, which sits on the right bank of the Sava river.

The half and the full marathon also take the runners across the Sava and through New Belgrade (Novi Beograd) which spreads across the very flat terrain on the left bank of the Sava:
