5th "South Tyrolean Nostalgic Run" 2009

This is a 5.5km Saturday evening run on a disused railway track through pretty countryside in Italy's northernmost province of South Tyrol where many people speak German as a first language.

The race travels on dirt roads and trails through tunnels, woods and fields to the finish in Montan. The route is downhill with an elevation loss of 115 meters.

Some athletes run very fast on this course. Last year, the top three males finished in under 15 minutes. You might, however, be better advised to take it slightly easier and enjoy the lovely setting. Many runners have developed back problems after fast downhill runs.

At the finish, there will be music, food and a playground for the kids.
