The Štafetni tek Sv. Barbare (‘Saint Barbara Relay Run’) is a running event for four-person relay teams, held each year around 4 December, the feast day of the patron saint of miners, Saint Barbara.

Each team member runs one lap (2.4km), mainly on hard-packed gravel paths, around the very beautiful Škalsko jezero (Lake Škale), a flooded coal-mining pit situated on the northern edge of the industrial town of Velenje in Slovenia.

Runners must be aged 12 years or over, and at least one member of the team must be a woman!
