The Cormor Ultra is a multi-terrain running event held in the Province of Udine in the north-eastern part of Italy.

Three very scenic point-to-point routes are available - a 69km race and two non-competitive runs (36km, 23km).

Entrants to the 69km ultramarathon have to provide a valid certificato medico at registration. You don't need a medical certificate, however, if you want to take part in the 23km or the 36km run.

Starting in the village of Buja (or Buia), which sits at an elevation of about 200 metres in the foothills of the Julian Prealps, the 69km race follows the Cormor, a 64km-long river that flows from Buja southwards across the Friulian Plain to the Adriatic Sea.

The 23km and 36km courses begin en route to the finish.

All three courses end in the quaint old fishing village of Marano Lagunare (pictured) which is situated in a lagoon between the cities of Venice and Trieste.

The race is run on a mix of trails, gravel and asphalt roads.

As far as we know, the event was last held on 15 October 2017.
