With well over 10,000 participants, the Vivicittá Félmaraton (Vivicitta Spring Half Marathon) in Budapest is one of the biggest running events in Hungary.
The 7k run and a number of shorter races for fun runners, families and walkers are held on Saturday.
The 10k race and the half marathon take place on Sunday.
Starting and ending on Margit-sziget (Margaret Island), an island in the River Danube, the half marathon route runs along both banks of the Danube through the city centre, passing many of Budapest's best-known sights. The course is mainly flat and fast.
The race is open to individuals and to relay teams of two or three runners.
