The Internationaler Chemnitzer Citylauf (ICC) in Chemnitz, Germany, took place only once, on 9 September 2017, replacing the Chemnitz Marathon which had been held annually between 2008 and 2016.

The ICC offered a 10km race, a 3x3.33km relay for teams of three runners, a 3.33km run, and a kids run.

The 10k road race was three laps of a flat course through the city centre of Chemnitz, a city of about 250,000 people in Sachsen (Saxony).

The start and the finish were at the gigantic Karl Marx Monument (pictured) which reminds us that the city was for 37 years, from 1953 until 1990, named Karl-Marx-Stadt by the former GDR authorities.
