Held annually on International Workers' Day in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany, the Volkslauf entlang der Mollispur (or "Mollilauf") features three very scenic road races, 3km, 6km and 12km long.

The route follows the tracks of the Molli, a narrow-gauge railway that is powered by a steam locomotive.

Starting and finishing at Kloster Doberan (Doberan Abbey), a former Cistercian monastery in the old spa town of Bad Doberan, the 12k race is an out-and-back run to the Baltic Sea coast.

The 6k and the 3k are point-to-point races.

The 6k starts in Heiligendamm, the oldest beach resort in continental Europe.

And the 3k kicks off at the Ostseerennbahn racecourse where horse races have been held for more than 200 years.

The train trip to the 3k and 6k start areas is included in the entry fees.
