The Küchwaldlauf takes place in the Küchwald, a wooded public park established in the early 20th century in the city of Chemnitz in Germany's state of Sachsen (Saxony).

Held annually in April, the event offers a 10k multi-terrain race, a 1.3k run and a 400m run for children.

All races start and finish at the Schullandheim im Küchwald, a school's country hostel.

The 10k is three laps of an undulating course through the park.

Update (January 2022):

The organizers have announced that the 37th Küchwaldlauf, which took place on 14 April 2019, was the last and final edition. The event will not be held any more in the future.
