The Alsterlauf is a 10k race around the Außenalster lake in Hamburg, Germany.

It's a prestigious and popular road running event that attracts well over 2,000 participants.

Starting and finishing on Ballindamm at the Binnenalster lake, the route is a scenic and mainly flat loop around the Außenalster which is surrounded by some of Hamburg's most exclusive quarters.

The course has been accurately measured and certified. During the race, it is closed to all traffic.

The event also offers a 5k (three laps around the Binnenalster lake) and a 1.4k race for children.
