The Altstadt Adventlauf ("Old Town Advent Run") is a running event held in the very pretty Altstadt of Mödling which is situated at the foot of the Wienerwald hills, just about sixteen kilometres from the city centre of Vienna, capital of Austria.
It offers races for runners of all ages:
- 500m-1k-1.5k children's races
- 5k (two laps)
- 10k (three laps)
The time limit to finish the run is one hour for the 5k and 90 minutes for the 10k.
After the race, many runners use the occasion to warm up with a cup of mulled wine on the Adventmarkt (Christmas market) in the festively decorated Old Town.
