The Vienna Night Run is a 5k road race held annually in September in the city centre of Austria's capital Wien (Vienna).

With more than 10,000 participants it is one of Central Europe's most popular 5k races.

Usually, more than half of the finishers are women.

The route runs along the imperial Ringstraße, a ring road that encircles Vienna's 1. Bezirk (1st district).

Along the course, runners pass many of Vienna's grandest buildings such as the Hofburg (Court Palace), the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera and the Burgtheater (pictured below).
