The Kaiserdomlauf is held annually in March in the old university city of Bamberg in the Upper Franconia region in Bavaria, Germany.

In 2016, almost 600 runners took part in the event.

Three race distances are on offer — a 2.5k run for children, a 5k and a 10k race.

The 5k is two laps and the 10k is four laps of a flat, fast and certified course through the district of Gaustadt which is home to the Brauerei Kaiserdom, the largest of Bamberg's many breweries.

The start/finish area is about two kilometres to the north-west of the Kaiserdom, a magnificent 13th-century cathedral that stands on a hill above the well-preserved and beautiful old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 2016, Felix Hentschel set a new course record of 30 minutes 22 seconds in the 10k race. Anna Hirt was the fastest woman in a time of 37 minutes 48 seconds.
