The North Sea Beach Marathon attracts more than 600 runners from all over the world to the small fishing town and holiday resort of Hvide Sande, which sits on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark.

All races (4.2km, 8.4km, 21.1km half marathon and 42.2km marathon) are run out and back along the coast — entirely on the sandy beach!

Last year, 617 runners from 15 countries took part in the event.

The fastest marathon finishers were once again Henrik Simonsen (3:15:20) and Stine Rex (3:50:10). The time limit to finish the race is seven hours.
