The Marcia dei Babbo Natale takes place in Spilimbergo, a beautiful old town of about 12,000 people, situated at the foot of the Alps in the Province of Pordenone in the north-eastern corner of Italy.

It's a lovely non-competitive pre-Christmas event that attracts several hundred runners and hikers every year. Some are dressed as Santas, others wear plain clothes.

Three routes are available, approximately 6km, 12km and 18km long.

Participants run, jog or walk through the festively-decorated historic town centre as well as through residential and rural areas.

The route is on mixed terrain (cobbles, asphalt, gravel and trails) which is partly flat and partly undulating.

The entry fees are very low (€3 on the day of the event), and all finishers will be treated with pasta e fagioli (pasta and beans) after the marcia.
