This popular 10k race takes runners through two countries — Poland and the Czech Republic. Accordingly, the event has two names.

In Poland it is known as the Cieszyński FORTUNA Bieg, in the Czech Republic as the Těšinský FORTUNA Běh.

Participants run through both parts of a town that was cut in two after World War One — Cieszyn (the Polish part of the town) and Český Těšín (the Czech part).

Starting in Cieszyn, the route runs along both banks of the Olza River (which forms the border) and across two bridges. On the picture above, Cieszyn is on the left and Český Těšín on the right side. The route is a 5k loop, so it crosses the border four times.

In 2015, the fastest finishers were Abel Rop of Kenya (29min 22sec) and Valentyna Kiliarska of Ukraine (35min 13sec). The time limit to complete the course is 75min.

Around 1,000 runners took part in the 10k race, and 1,250 finished the 2k run for young athletes.
