The Quickborn Run offers two road races — 10km and 25km long.

Both races begin and end in Quickborn, a town of 20,000 people in the state of Schleswig-Holstein in the far north of Germany.

Quickborn is situated approximately 23km from the city centre of Hamburg, in a low-lying rural area that is well known for the breeding of Holsteiner horses (pictured), which are hugely successful in international show jumping and dressage.

The route runs through farmland and woods, mostly on flat asphalt roads.

The time limit to finish the race is 1hr 20min for the 10k, and 3hr 30min for the 25k.

Around 500 runners took part in last year's 37th edition of the Quickborn Run.
