Straverona, Verona, Italy - runners on Corso Porta Nuova (Copyright © 2014 Hendrik Böttger / runinternational.eu)

Held in the old city of Verona in northern Italy, the Straverona attracts a crowd of up to 20,000 runners and walkers every year.

Participants can choose between three routes — 6km, 10km, or 20km.

As the Straverona is a non-competitive fun run finishing times will not be recorded, except you register for the CronoRun (10km, 20km) which is limited to 2000 entries.

All routes begin and end at the Arena, Verona's gigantic Roman amphitheatre, situated on Piazza Bra in the beautiful historic city centre.

The 6km route is a flat loop through the city centre whereas the 10km and 20km routes also take the runners up the hills to the north of the city centre.
