The North Sea Beach Marathon draws more than 700 runners to the small fishing town and holiday resort of Hvide Sande on the Jutland peninsula in Denmark.

All races (4.2km, 8.4km, half marathon, and marathon) are run out and back along the coast — entirely on the sandy beach!

In 2014, runners from 13 countries took part in the event.

The fastest marathon finishers were Henrik Simonsen (3:12:20) and Stine Rex (3:41:34). The time limit to complete the race is seven hours.
