Held in the wooded hills between Slovenia's capital Ljubljana and the Julian Alps, this mountain race (Slovene: gorski tek) features a 7km-long uphill course that includes about 450m of elevation gain from start to finish.

Starting in the hamlet of Nemilje near the town of Kranj, competitors run on mixed terrain (asphalt, gravel, and trails) to the finish line at the church of Sveti Mohor which stands at an elevation of 952m on top of a hill.

Amazing views (pictured above) open up as you approach the finish!

Last year, 86 runners finished the race, led home by Marjan Župančič (31:24) and Anica Klinar (41:12).

The event also offers children's races and a 7km bike race. Runners start off at 4pm, cyclists at 4.30pm.
