Participants in the Bistrški tek in Slovenia run 10 kilometres of a challenging course on gravel roads through pine forests and beautiful open grassland.

The route climbs approximately 150 metres over the first four kilometres. After that, it's mostly downhill.

The start and finish are at a bar in the forested hills above the town of Ilirska Bistrica which is on the road from Ljubljana to the Adriatic port of Rijeka.

Last year, 111 runners took part in the 10k race. The children's races had 68 finishers. The 10k winners were Tomaž Ferjančič (36:30) and Neja Kršinar (42:07).
