This Stadtlauf attracts around 600 runners and nordic walkers from Austria and neighbouring countries to the small and neat town of Frohnleiten, situated in the narrow industrial Mur River Valley, approximately 30km north of the city of Graz.

The event features children's races, a 4.8km run (one lap), a 9.6km race (two laps), and two nordic walking competitions (4.8km and 10.8km).

Starting and finishing on Frohnleiten's main square, the route is undulating through town, to the village of Adriach, and along the river, partly on gravel.

Last year, the fastest finishers in the 9.6km race were Hans Muralter of Austria (34:45) and Hungary's Andrea Szederkényi-Takács (36:20).
