Held every year in November at the northern tip of Lake Garda in northern Italy, the Garda Trentino Half Marathon is a top late-season road running race.

Last year, the half marathon had over 2,800 finishers.

Entrants must provide a medical certificate at registration if they want to compete over the half marathon distance but they don't need it for the 8k fun run.

The event is not only popular for its beautiful setting but also for its strudel and pasta parties, the pre-race breakfast, the well-filled goodie bag, and the concerts.

The start is in the historic centre of Riva del Garda. The finish line is at the ‘Stadio Benacense’ stadium, a ten-minute walk to the east. The course is mildly undulating.

Competitors run northwards through a fertile valley to the town of Arco, and then along the River Sarca back to the lake. The last bit is run on the lakeside promenade.
