Trail Jamarun - views of the industrial part of Trieste (Copyright © 2012 runinternational.eu)

The Trail Jamarun features an extremely scenic 13km course, which contains about 600 metres of climbing and 600 metres of descent.

The start and the finish are in the village of Bagnoli della Rosandra, situated on the edge of the port of Trieste in the north-eastern corner of Italy, on the border with Slovenia.

The route runs through the spectacular Val Rosandra gorge, then uphill to the 400-metre high Karst Plateau, through a village in Slovenia, and finally downhill to the finish line.

Most of the race is on trails. Just a few short sections are on asphalt roads.

Last year, the Jamarun winners were Michele Ermacora (0:57:30) and Valentina Bonanni (1:19:20).
