The fifth stage of the annual Gazzetta Run race series brings runners to the beach resort of Lido di Jesolo in the Province of Venice in Italy.
Due to its 15-kilometre-long sandy beach Jesolo is one of the major summer holiday destinations on the northern Adriatic.
The event offers a 10K race as well as two non-competitive fun runs (5K, 10K).
Entrants to the competitive 10K race must provide a medical certificate at registration. The non-competitive runs are open to all runners, and the entry fees are a bit lower, but the finishing times will not be recorded.
The 10K consists of two laps of a very flat course through the town centre and along the beach promenade.
In 2010, the top finishers were Paolo Sandali (31:01) and Silvia Sommaggio (34:39).
Named after Italy's major sports tabloid La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gazzetta Run comprises eight road running races, staged in eight different cities and towns of Italy.
