The 9k River Park Night Run draws the crowds to Slovakia's capital city Bratislava.

Organized by the Bratislava Marathon, the first edition of the event had over 800 finishers. Last year, around 1900 runners took part in the race. This year, the entry limit stands at 2800 runners.

The start is at 8pm at the River Park (pictured), a new multi-purpose complex of buildings on the River Danube, approximately 1.5 kilometres west of the city centre.

The route is a 9-kilometre loop. Participants run through the tunnel under castle hill, around Bratislava's city centre, across two impressive Danube bridges, through a large park, into the beautiful old town, and finally along the river to the finish at the River Park.

In 2010, on a different course, the winners were Juraj Vitko and Dana Janečková.
